Bungalow Design A84

  • To fit lot size: 60'x 120'
  • Built-up Area: 4795 sft.
  • 5+1 Bedrooms with bathroom attached
  • This large tropical family home design comes with large verandah and a lap pool, terraces, and a well-defined garden.
  • The design will fit a long plot of land measuring 60’ wide x 120’ long.
  • Simple and straightforward home design that divides the land into 2 portions: the house and the garden
  • The house portion will accommodate the major rooms of the house whilst the garden portion will include a lap pool with large terraces all around it for party and social gathering.
  • The zone between the garden and the house is the intermediate zone” that allow semi-enclosed verandah spaces to link between the two. It is called the verandah or the terraces that is especially practical and useful for a tropical climate home.
  • Verandah provide the physical connection between the indoor space and the outdoor garden and provide weather protection and shades to the house. The roof eaves of the verandah will give visual linearity to the ground space and as such it can frame the intended views or scenery intended for a particular part of the house. In this home design, the verandah on both sides of the Living and Dining Room frame views of the pool gardens and the vegetation beyond the physical boundaries of the house.
  • The Living and Dining Rooms of the house are connected to the external garden and pool areas. The rooms are punctuated with sliding-folding doors and large windows for this purpose. This public spaces in and around the house are intended for occasional parties and social gatherings.
  • On one side of the pool garden there is a continuous wall to define the garden boundary and on the other side of the Living Room there are colonnades that give visual punctuation and respite to the external spaces. Both the external areas are different in nature but are equally delirious either for quiet respite or group indulgence.
  • The pool terrace is walled up with a L-shaped fairfaced concreate wall to demarcate the domain between the public areas and the more private garden of the house toward the back of the house.
  • The entrance foyer is enclosed with low ceiling and intended for it to resemble like a church-like vestibule upon entry of the house before larger parts of the visual surprises and connections are slowly unravelled in sequence.
  • On the ground floor level and for practical design intent, the back of house is for a guest/ study room and the other portion of it is served as a wet and dry kitchen with direct access to the internal formal dining and the pool side garden terrace. A Utility Room or a maid’s quarter is also housed in this area to provide the necessary functions as intended.
  • On the upper level of the house, a simple and linear configuration of the design is conjured up to make sure all the major bedrooms and informal Family Room can have a view towards courtyard on the ground level. All the rooms are designed to have a view towards the internal garden or the pool view towards the pool area.
  • The Master Bedroom is luxuriously designed with its own En-suite, walk-in wardrobe, and private balcony.
  • The large Family Room has direct and unobstructed views on both sides the house.
  • This house design is simple in program but very practical and well-resolved in planning. It is well-suited for a growing family with large entertainment to do occasionally. This house design symbolises how a tropical home design can function seamlessly with its immediate environment and yet keep the best aspect of what tropical living lifestyle can offer, that is to be free, open and transparent in its designs and planning.
